Mentoring
When Vanha Krappala is open to visitors from spring to autumn, it is possible to book a mentoring session with Mari Krappala (Doctor of Arts, Adjunct Professor of Cultural Studies at Aalto University, Master’s degree in Education.).
MENTORING
Sometimes mentoring is about searching for things that feel lost in one’s mind. When you want to discover something new, when something feels tangled, frustrating, difficult to let go of, or simply exhausting, it can be a good idea to talk with someone outside your usual circle.
Mentoring can open new paths and perspectives. It may bring relief and clarity, making it easier later to figure out what you need to do – or perhaps what you don’t need to do.
GUIDANCE
Mari also offers guidance for theses, studies, and schooling. The target groups include comprehensive school students, upper secondary school students, and university students.
Guidance may focus on working with study motivation or developing suitable study and working methods. Often, students know their topic well when writing a thesis, but the structure of the work needs clarification and organization, as well as reflection on how the work could develop further.
Your supervisor in your field is usually the best person to provide additional subject-specific knowledge and literature. However, they do not always have the time to help with the feeling of being lost or to support the thesis-writing process through all its stages.
Being lost can be one of the most valuable phases of the work. It creates the possibility of discovering something new.
Guidance and mentoring can be booked for individuals or groups. It may consist of a single session or a series of conversations.
